Wasting Time
I’ve spent my life
Wasting time,
Making lists
Of things that rhyme.
I’ve sailed along
With time to spare,
Enjoying a life
I considered fair.
I’ve tried of late
To stay on track,
Writing and thinking
But slide right back.
I’ve sorted the pencils
In my coffee cup,
And wasted more time
Looking stuff up.
I’ve called up my sister
To read her my journal,
But end up discussing
The sex life of turtles.
I’ve no time now
For another draft,
This story needs ending
But first—a nap.

Love this!
Yes, that time wasted is where we stir up old memories!
